KROKUS Set U.S. Release Date For 'Rock The Block'
January 29, 2004Veteran Swiss hard rockers KROKUS have set a June 1 U.S. release date through Reality Entertainment for their latest studio album, "Rock the Block". A long-awaited U.S. "comeback" tour should follow in August.
Commented KROKUS singer Marc Storace: "We're hoping to release and tour in the United States this coming summer. It's only natural for us to return to our '80s main stronghold and the land of rock 'n' roll ... it was you Americans that really made us big back then and we didn't forget! Now that we've re-established ourselves in Europe, it's time to pay you a visit from coast to coast ... sorry we've kept you waiting this long, the feeling is mutual, and I guarantee you will be well rewarded with our new and vigorous kick-ass shows ... until we meet to rock together again!"
"Rock The Block", debuted at No. 1 on the Swiss Album chart upon its release in January 2003 and has since achieved platinum status in the band's home country.
The CD, which was recorded at Soundlake Studio in Lausanne, Switzerland, is the group's first since being rejoined by Storace and guitarist Fernando Von Arb.
KROKUS still stand as the only Swiss rock band to have achieved gold and platinum status in the U.S. and Europe, with over 10 million albums sold worldwide.
